On the mouth it is honeyed, frank, hints of vivid red fruit, with some leather, velvety tannins which make a long finish.
Variety: Mencía 100%
Vines age: more than 40 years
Ageing: 4-7 months
Production 90,000 bottles
That’s how 2009 is defined, as a climatologically perfect year, with a cold Winter, rain in spring and hot in summer. The great variation of temperatures through the day enhanced ripeness and phenolic concentration. A great vintage as a hole.
Just like every year, a quality selection of the grape was made in order to get the best of these good climatologic conditions and offer a full-advantaged Baltos.
Tasting notes
Round, fresh, elegant. Powerful fruity character with red ripen fruits, a bit spicy and toasted hues from its ageing in oak. On the mouth it is honeyed, frank, hints of vivid red fruit, with some leather, velvety tannins which make a long finish.
